Science presentation expectations

The presentations will take place from 5th - 8th of December.

Here are the success criteria for Science.

Thinking
Reviews his/her ideas with an adult to improve the design of his/her toy/game.

Makes a written and draws a plan of his/her toy/game before building it.

Assess the completed toy/game to come up with ways to improve its usage of forces. (Use of materials, how and where it should be used, etc.)

Communication
Explains how his/her toy uses different forces using scientific vocabulary. (names forces, explains effect on movement.)

Knowledge/Understanding and Application
Applies his/her knowledge of forces and their effects to make a toy or a game. (at least 2 forces)

Identifies and connects the importance of forces in the utilization of the toy/game.

Applies his/her knowledge of forces and their effects to examine possibilities of improvement.



For Speaking

Application / Communication
Demonstrates evidence of awareness of the audience by
  - Using an appropriate volume, speed and fluency.
  - Making frequent eye contact with the audience.
  - Clearly demonstrate the toy and displays it effectively to the audience.

Students will be bringing their draft of the toy home to practice the presentation. The toy won't be brought home for practice to avoid loss or damages.
