Dear Family,
Here are some curriculum updates and important information for the month of June.
Curriculum Updates
• Language
o We will continue to work on listening and reading strategies.
o We will finish our word lists. We will have done 41 dictations by the end of this month.
• Math
o We will finalize our measurement unit.
o We will do a short unit on probability where students will investigate the probability of winning and losing in simple games to determine the fairness.
• Science
o We have been working on our plant unit. We are learning characteristics of different plants and will investigate the relationship between living things and plants.

June 6 - Twin Day Spirit Day
June 14- Ministry of Infrastructure to visit RDPS
June 14 – Last Parent/Council Meeting 7pm in library- All are welcome.
June 15 - All books to be returned to the Learning Commons
June 17- Happy Father’s Day/Special Person Day
June 20 – Trip to Safety Village – Please check Cashonline to pay for the trip.
June 21 - WINIT Final School Assembly
June 22 - Summer Sun Day
June 26 - Term 2- final report cards go home
June 27 - RDPS Talent Show
June 28 – Last Day of School - Early Dismissal Day – 12:05 p.m.
Reminder
• If your child will be away and will not be receiving their report card, it will be available to be picked up at the office on June 28th or 29th as the office will be open on these days. The office will re-open at the end of August. Unfortunately, the report card cannot be mailed.
• As warm weather approaches, students are reminded to wear appropriate clothing. Items such as torn jeans, tank tops, tops with spaghetti straps, tops that leave the midriff exposed, halter tops and beach footwear (e.g. flip flops) are deemed inappropriate.
• Reminder on the use of sunscreen at school:
• Students will apply their own sunscreen. No assistance from adults or peers.
• No aerosol cans (cream only) as students have been sprayed in their eyes which is very dangerous.
• Unscented sunscreen only as we have students and staff with severe allergies to scents.
• Label sunscreen bottle with child’ name
• No sharing of sunscreen is allowed.
• Remember students should bring a hat and water bottle to school at all times during warmer weather. Always label clothing as well.
