Students will have a quiz on Thusday 7th June on measurement. (capacity, mass, length and temperature)
Students are expected to know different units and basic conversions.
For example:
1kg = 1000 g
1L = 1000 mL
1km = 1000 m
They are also expected to know that
Capacity : use mL and L // used mostly for liquid or semi-liquid substances.
Mass : use g and G // used for solid objects.
Length : use mm, cm, m, and km // used for distance.
Temperature : use ºC. Water starts boiling at 100 ºC and freezing at 0 ºC.
Students should be able to:
compare and order different measured numbers.
decide which unit is appropriate for the context (use L to measure the amount of water in a small swimming pool but use mL for eye drops).
solve word problems involving measurement.
Thank you for your support.
